The event organized by Haringey Council and Haringey Multi Faith Forum within the scope of Hate Crimes Awareness Week continues under the hosting of the UK Alevi Cultural Centre and Cemevi. The event allows representatives of different faiths and communities to come together in solidarity at the cemevi, which is the centre of the Alevi faith.
The event, which emphasized one of the fundamental principles of the Alevi faith, “looking at 72 nations with one eye,” addressed the effects of hate crimes on societies. IAKM stated “The fact that this important message was given at the faith centre of the Alevis, who have been subjected to hate crimes throughout history, strengthened their hopes for building a more livable world.”
Adding that it was a great honour to host the event, the UK Alevi Cultural Centre and Cemevi thanked all participants who contributed and worked for the organization.
Emphasizing that such organizations are of vital importance in terms of establishing peace, tolerance and unity among societies, the Cemevi stated that the fight against hate crimes will continue.
