Turkey’s Ambassador to TRNC, Feyzioğlu removed from position

Metin Feyzioğlu, Turkey’s Ambassador to the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) in Nicosia, has been relieved of his duties.

Yasin Ekrem Serim, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey, has been appointed as his replacement.

It has been reported that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan signed the new appointment decree today.

Feyzioğlu, who has held various positions within the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs for a long time, was most recently serving as the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs.

Feyzioğlu recently faced significant criticism for not welcoming the Chairman of the Republican People’s Party (CHP), Özgür Özel.

It has been announced that Feyzioğlu’s new position will be as the ambassador to Prague.

Who is Yasin Ekrem Serim?

Yasin Ekrem Serim was born on March 27, 1986, in Kocaeli, Turkey. He graduated from the Department of Public Administration and Political Science at Girne American University. Serim completed his master’s degree in International Business Management at the University of Westminster in the United Kingdom and participated in Negotiation and Communication Techniques training programs at Harvard Kennedy School. Throughout his career, Serim has served in various bureaucratic roles within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, including at the Permanent Mission to the United Nations in New York, the Ministry of European Union Affairs, the Prime Ministry, and the Presidency.
