The traditional Ashura sharing event was organized by the Alevi Cultural Centre and Cemevi England (İAKM-Cemevi) at its headquarters in Wood Green, north London, on Sunday (21 July). Thousands of people from London and surrounding areas attended this event, symbolizing brotherhood, sharing, solidarity, and abundance.
Ashura, cooked in large cauldrons, was shared with a significant number of attendees, with approximately 6,000 portions distributed. The event began with Yadigar Aslan Ana lighting the ceremonial candle and offering the Ashura prayer, followed by three devotional songs performed by saz teacher Mustafa Kılçık.
İAKM-Cemevi President İbrahim Has conveyed the essence of Ashura, stating, “Our Ashura is about seeing our differences as richness and being united, strong, and vibrant. Love to the hundreds of souls who contributed, prepared, cooked, and shared our Ashura.”
