As part of the 35th Culture and Arts Festival, Day-Mer organized a Youth Football Tournament on Sunday, June 23rd, at Powerleague Tottenham.
The tournament encouraged young people to form teams with friends from their schools and neighborhoods, aiming to bring together youth from diverse backgrounds. The event successfully fostered a sense of camaraderie and sportsmanship, drawing a total of 7 teams and an audience of around 200 supporters.
In a competitive yet fair-play environment, Karakoçan FC emerged victorious. Helin Şahbaz, speaking on behalf of Day-Mer Youth, highlighted the event’s success and future aspirations, stating, “We organized our second football tournament this year after the inaugural event last year. Through this tournament, we aimed to promote our festival and bring young people together in a friendly setting through sports. We plan to make this tournament a yearly part of our festival. We invite all our young friends to join us at the Park Festival on July 7th in Clissold Park.”
The Day-Mer Youth Football Tournament not only served as a precursor to the larger festival but also reinforced the organization’s commitment to fostering community and youth engagement through sports.
