A local Met officer has been stabbed while responding to reports of a man with a knife in Mandeville Road, Enfield yesterday (Tuesday 16 April) at 16:20hrs.
A 30-year old man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after the officer sustained serious injuries to his shoulder.
The officer was immediately supported by his colleagues who helped disarm and detain the suspect and seized a knife.
The officers also rushed to administer first aid treatment, including using a tourniquet. The officer was then taken to hospital by the London Ambulance Service. He is in a stable condition.
The suspect sustained an injury during the arrest and has been discharged from hospital. He is now in police custody.
