A documentary film screening, organized by AKEL and the Cyprus Turkish Democracy Association, will be held in memory of Derviş Ali Kavazoğlu and Kostas Mişaulis.

The screening of the documentary “Flowers and Bullets” will take place on Monday, April 8th, at 7:00 PM at the Cyprus Community Center.

Following the screening, Panikos Hrisanthu, Yorgos Liasis, and Hüseyin Akansoy will answer participants’ questions.

The documentary “Flowers and Bullets,” produced by Panikos Hrisantu and Niyazi Kızılyürek, with narration by Yorgos Liasis, recounts the experiences of Liasis, who survived the Palekitre massacre in 1974, where civilians were killed. Liasis’s story serves as a summary of the tragic events on the island.

Details about the documentary screening and Liasis’s story emphasize ‘the importance of telling the truth to children and call for efforts towards peace and a shared homeland’. Participation is free, but for reservations, information can be obtained by calling 07387265018.
