The ‘Band of Burns’ concert, scheduled to take place at the prestigious Kings Place in London on January 27, will bring together musicians from Turkey, Scotland, Ireland, and Wales on the same stage. During the event, a special piece inspired by the poetry of Nazım Hikmet will also be performed.
The 12-member orchestra, featuring artists of Turkish origin such as Dila Vardar and Tansay Omar, will celebrate humanity, equality, and liberal ideals by showcasing various songs and poems written by the Scottish poet Robert Burns in the 1700s. Established in 2017, the ‘Band of Burns’ project offers a powerful and thought-provoking experience by uniting musicians from diverse cultural backgrounds.
