11-Year-Old Berzan Yapıcı achieves remarkable success in music exams

Berzan Yapıcı, an 11-year-old student continuing his education in London, has set an important record in the music world by successfully completing five separate “Grade” exams within a year. Berzan participated in a total of five different categories, including guitar, piano, and Rock & Pop Drums, in the exam system targeted annually by experienced music instructors, and he successfully passed all of them.

Playing guitar, piano, drums, and bağlama, Berzan Yapıcı achieved remarkable success by scoring 94 in the drum exam and 95 in the piano exam. Additionally, Berzan, who performs with the Hokkabaz rock group at concerts and festivals, selecting pieces from bands like Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Dio, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Europa, continues to showcase his passion for music on various stages.

The importance given to music education by Berzan Yapıcı stems from his family. His sister, Beren Yapıcı, also continued the success tradition in the family by scoring a perfect 100 in the music theory exam while preparing for Grade 7 on the piano.

The Grade exam system, conducted by Trinity College London, offers an academic equivalence certificate to students who cannot receive education in conservatories or music academies, with an average of 850,000 candidates participating worldwide, providing a point-increasing advantage. Berzan Yapıcı’s extraordinary success follows a story previously realized by Deniz Güler in 2014, combining music with academic achievement. Music instructor Sedat Yıldırım Sarıcı said, “We observe that artistic and sporting activities have a positive impact on the academic achievements of our children. I believe that the academic achievements of our children and young people will further increase in the future.”
