Altın Gün, one of the trendiest groups emerging from Amsterdam in recent years, is set to captivate music lovers in London with their unique blend of Turkish folk music and psychedelia. Their catchy pop hooks and striking live performances have garnered a large and growing international fan base.

It all began with bassist Jasper Verhulst, who decided to revive the sound of ’70s Anatolian rock that he first encountered while performing in Istanbul. He found fellow band members through Facebook, and in 2016, Altın Gün was born.

Their second album, “Gece,” earned them a GRAMMY Award nomination in the Best World Album category in 2019, bringing the band greater recognition. The Dutch sextet has achieved a memorable fusion of psychedelic rock, deep funk, synthpop, cosmic reggae, and more, blending the rich and incredibly diverse traditions of Anatolian and Turkish folk music.

“Aşk” sees Altın Gün returning to their retro Turkish psychedelic rock roots, effortlessly intertwining traditional instruments with synth-laden rhythms, embraced by the enchanting vocals of Merve Daşdemir and Erdinç Ecevit. Regarded by many as their best work to date, this record captures the essence of the band’s musical evolution.
