The Alevi Cultural Centre and Cemevi UK(IAKMC) marked their 30th year of establishment this year on London.

As part of the anniversary events, a special performance with music and dance was shown at the Dominion Centre in the Wood Green, north London. Members, guest from overseas, community  members and local politicians attending the performs where the story emphasised services and cultural enrichment carried out by the Alevi community over the 30 years, as well as they journey which marked the initial foundations of Alevi institutionalization in London in 1993.

A event which celebrated and highlighted the struggles, hardship as well as the enthusiasm, pride, honour, and hope for the future in a performance which re-enacted a story with live music, dances and readings given on the stage. Bringing together hundreds of community members from across the country, to celebrated the milestone year.

Ibrahim Has, the President of IAKMC emphasized that over the 30 years, the Cemevi has been a pioneer in providing services in the fields of Alevi belief, culture, art, and social areas.

He stated, “We have been saying for years that there are Alevi’s and that Alevism is right. A lot has been done in these 30 years. Cemevi multiplied and became federations and confederations. It was introduced to England that Alevism was a unique belief. Alevism was accepted as a free belief in schools. We gave our first Alevism lesson at Prince of Wales School in 2011. We were officially recognized in 2015. Our souls have been given the opportunity to take part in many levels. Souls were provided with the feeling that they were not alone. After 30 years, the initiative was taken to commemorate the lives we lost in the Maraş Massacre in Maraş. These services and more continue and will continue. Many happy 30 years.”
