Sevgül Şinasi died following fatal crash in North Cyprus

Sevgül Şinasi who was holidaying in North Cyprus tragically lost her life in a fatal car crash.

Sevgül lost her life following a traffic accident involving three vehicles on the Girne-Alsancak road in north Cyprus on Sunday 3 December.

Living in the UK, Sevgül was in North Cyprus on holiday and visiting family. At the time of the incident Sevgul was in seated in the passage seat of the car which was hit, she was taken to hospital where sadly she lost her life.   Her relatives expressed their outrage over the needless deaths relating car incidences on the island.

In a statement by local police following the incident stated: “Zeka SALDAM (F-28), the driver of the salon car with license plate UZ 008, travelling in the right lane of the two-lane road, attempted to change lanes due to excessive speed and carelessness. In the process, he collided with the left rear of the salon car with license plate RC 268, driven by Seval ÖZHARUN (F-64), travelling in the same direction just in front of him. Right before the accident, Zeka SALDAM also collided with the right rear of the car with license plate TMJ 039, driven by Olgun KARLANKUŞ (F-33), which had just changed to the left lane and was travelling in the same direction within the left lane. Due to the impact, the RC 268 plate vehicle, thrown to the right and hitting a lighting pole in the median dividing the road, crossed to the opposite lane and overturned onto its left side.”

Adding Saldem had been arrested and the investigation is ongoing.
