Ferry Lane Primary School in Tottenham north London celebrated Turkish Republic Day with its students.
The young students and their families gathered to listen to Basak Zengin and Emre Gokalp perform for them at their school on Tuesday 31 October.
In a statement, the school said: “Today we were treated to a special concert led by renowned soprano singer Basak Zengin and Emre Gokalp. Their inspirational performance included a combination of English, Turkish and Azerbaijani modern, classical and traditional folk songs. The repertoire of powerful, lively pieces and emotional love songs was such a unique experience for all of us. Thank you to our Turkish families who joined us for this experience that also ties into celebrations of the 100-year anniversary of the birth of the Turkish Republic. A big thank you to basak zengin kayabinar and emre gokalp for a wonderful afternoon…”
