A Turkish woman, Naciye Batkıtar, who was among the demonstrators participating in a solidarity rally for Palestine in London, was taken into custody by the British police when they arrived at her residence in London.
The arrest has caused concern and her family is anxiously waiting for further information. Naciye Batkıtar’s son, İbrahim Batkıtar, explained the situation and the family’s concerns.
He stated that the police came to their home and conducted a search. As of the evening, there was limited information about the situation, and her family didn’t know the specific charges against her. They have contacted the Turkish Republic Embassy in the UK regarding her arrest.
The family expressed their concern about her arrest, emphasizing that Naciye Batkıtar has not been involved in any criminal activities throughout her life, is a kind-hearted and charitable person, and is particularly sensitive when it comes to children and babies. Naciye Batkıtar previously served as the Chairwoman of the UETD UK Women’s Branch in London. She holds both Turkish and British citizenship and is married with one child.
