Anatolian melodies reverberate in London’s historic ambiance

IN the heart of London, two master musicians, Levent Canen and Doğu Ekin, came together for a musical rendezvous in the mystical atmosphere of The Old Church. Doğu Ekin, invited from Turkey, introduced listeners to different tones with his arrangements on the kopuz, a unique instrument with a specific chord structure.

Doğu Ekin and Levent Canen have been on a journey filled with love for music and art for many years with their Istanbul-based acoustic project, Gizli Bahçe Akustik. Doğu Ekin, the pioneer of the project, shared the unique story of their friendship and collaboration with Levent Canen, stating, “Our paths crossed, we progressed together, and he never left me alone since the beginning of Gizli Bahçe Akustik.”

The enchanting music of Doğu Ekin and Levent Canen found new life within the historical fabric of London. Those who couldn’t secure tickets for the sold-out concert enjoyed the standing performance at the venue known as the Old Church. These two masterful artists, performing and interpreting songs from various corners of Anatolia, provided a fulfilling concert experience for music enthusiasts. Several beloved London musicians also joined the concert as guest artists, receiving great applause from the audience, and the concert concluded with enthusiasm.
