Voting in the Turkish Presidential and 28th Term Parliamentary Elections as overseas voting is now underway ahead of Turkey’s election day May 14.
In the UK, where there are 127,281 registered Turkish voters according to the Turkish Supreme Election Council (YSK).
On Saturday morning voting started, from 9 am to 9 pm every day including weekends as well as the bank holiday on May 1.
Thousands of people have now queued up to cast their ballot, with the warm weather over the weekend and the bank holiday giving voters time to make the journey to the voting in 4 locations across the UK.
The long weekend and warm weather have aided in a higher turnout for the first weekend.
Voting will continue during the weekdays and into this weekend when the King’s Coronation will take place.
In London, heavy traffic and crowds are expected on Saturday and Sunday the last days of the voting period.
Ballots close on Sunday night at 9 pm for voting in London, Manchester and Edinburgh.
In Leicester, voting ended on Monday night (May 1).
