Multilingual ‘solidarity’ concert held in London

DOUGHTY Street Chambers, a chamber of lawyers in London, hosted a music night at Doughty Street Chambers on April 20 to raise funds for the Disaster Emergency Committee’s earthquake relief fund.

In her opening speech, Lawyer Karlia Lykourgou stated that more than 50 thousand people lost their lives and thousands of people lost their families, homes and everything, and emphasized that they consider it a responsibility to make such an initiative on behalf of Doughty Street Chambers as a chamber of lawyers.

Great attention was paid to the solidarity event, which sold out all tickets. The audience, who showed great interest in Turkish, Kurdish, Arabic, Greek, Armenian and Sephardic works performed by Ethno Voices Project, a women’s music group recently founded by artist Suna Alan, danced to the accompaniment of traditional Greek rebetiko pieces performed by The Exelixis group.
