THIS Ramadan, Asda has partnered with Zubda Malik of @Kitchen_diaries_by_Zubda to create some inspiring recipe content which would add variety to your Iftars and Suhoors.
These recipes have flavours of South Asia, Middle East and the Mediterranean which have been specially created with all the ingredients shopped under one roof at Asda. At Asda we always endeavour to bring products and brands to the shoppers which are relevant to them and help them observe their celebrations and festivities with full fervour.
A taste of Turkey with homemade Adana Kebab. In a bowl, add the mince along with salt, black pepper, sumac, cumin powder, coriander powder, paprika, & chilli powder. Mix everything together and set it aside. In a chopper sliced bell pepper, onions, jalapeños and garlic, grind the mixture coarsely then removed its excess moisture. Add this to your mince and mix good for 2-3 minutes to combine everything. Cover and leave in the refrigerator for 3-4 hours ideally but at least 30 minutes.
Spinach and Feta Borek a savoury treat the whole family will love! Wash and chop the spinach finely, then dry well. Add the chopped spinach to a large bowl then finely chop the spring onions and dill. Transfer to the bowl. Crumble in the feta cheese, add salt & pepper and mix to combine everything.
In a separate bowl, combine the eggs, milk, melted butter, and olive oil together. Set aside.
Unwrap your phyllo pastry and lay a single sheet on a flat surface. Lightly brush the prepared liquid and then place another sheet of phyllo dough on top and repeat with the liquid mixture.
Then Spoon the filling across the long edge in a straight line. Take one end of the pastry and start twisting it into a circle like a spiral. Place the spiral on a baking sheet and brush it with the liquid mixture. Once your boreks are ready, bake in a preheated oven for 20-25 minutes at 200 degrees Celsius until golden brown.
