THE Turkish Cypriot Youth and Family Association (KTGAB) president Nafiya Horozoğlu, met with The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) Minister of National Education Nazım Çavuşoğlu and announced that they would start working on promoting universities in the TRNC and especially for Turkish Cypriot youth looking to study in TRNC.
During the meeting, it was discussed what should be done to make the universities in Northern Cyprus better known to Turkish Cypriot youth who were born and raised in England. In addition, different activities were planned for the promotion of universities in the TRNC.
In a statement made during the meeting, Çavuşoğlu said, “The fact that Turkish Cypriot youth in England study at our universities in the TRNC will contribute to our country and strengthen our cultural ties. We will take important steps in this regard by collaborating with the KTGAB.”
Horozoğlu said “We want to raise awareness for Turkish Cypriot youth in England to study at universities in the TRNC. We have taken the first steps in cooperation with the TRNC Ministry of National Education in this regard and we will continue our work.” he said.
In a statement to Londra Gazete the Minister of National Education emphasized that TRNC university degrees are valid all over the world. Çavuşoğlu used the following expression: “We have always worked and continue to work to strengthen our bond with our youth living in England. The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus is also the homeland of our youth in the diaspora. There is no reason why these young people should not choose universities in the TRNC. Diplomas of all departments approved by the Republic of Turkey Higher Education Council are valid all over the world.”
