Ambassador Ertaş attended the ÇATI event

Turkey’s Ambassador to London Osman Koray Ertaş attended the Roof Business Networking event.

Osman Koray Ertaş, the new London Ambassador of Turkey, started his duty by presenting a copy of his letter of credence to the British Foreign Office. Four days after taking office, Ertaş met with Turks living in London. Ertaş attended the networking event of ÇATI Business, a non-governmental organization that brings business people residing in England and business people with the Ankara Agreement together.

Speaking at the event, Ambassador Ertaş touched upon the importance of commercial cooperation between England and Turkey. Sonay Memoğlu, a Member of the Board of Directors of ÇATI, who made the opening speech of the night, stated that Ambassador Ertaş’s meeting with business people as soon as he started his duty gave them strength. Memoğlu also thanked former ambassador Ümit Yalçın, who announced that he will retire after his term ends.

During the night, Ambassador Ertaş was accompanied by the first undersecretaries Güneş Yeşildağ and Sezin Şahin Yeşildağ. Chingford Conservative Party councillor Şazimet Palta İmre and many business people attended the event.

ÇATI Board Member Taner Bildik thanked the participants and said that ÇATI is an NGO that works not only for the business world but also for the entire Turkish community living in England. Bildik talked about the work they did during the pandemic and after the earthquake disaster.

ÇATI Founding Board Member Murat Mete Metin also gave information about the psychological support and training activities to be started in the cities damaged by the earthquake and the search and rescue team to be established within the body of ÇATI.
