OSMAN Koray Ertaş, the former special adviser to Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, was appointed as Turkey’s Ambassador to London last October.
Ambassador Ertaş started his new role as Turkey’s Ambassador to London on Wednesday 15 March. Former London Ambassador Ümit Yalçın had previously stated that he would retire following the end of his term.
On Wednesday 15 March, he presented copies of his credentials to the Foreign Office, followed by his visit to the Turkish Air Force Cemetery at Brookwood.
In a message shared Ambassador Ertaş said his new role is a ‘great honour’ saying the UK and Turkey have a long history in trade, tourism, education and defence. Stating they aim to ‘reach new heights and achieve recover in trade’ explains the numbers of British tourists to the country and continues working on their close relationship at NATO and G20.
