DILEK Livaneli will be speaking at a United Nations-organised event for International Women’s Day on March 8.
Livaneli was awarded as the first Turkish teacher to be selected among the world’s top 50 teachers. A village school teacher, who teaches education alone in unified classrooms, never loses her hope and belief in her job, striding to produce solutions to problems and her journey from village school teacher to global teacher.
She has also carried out voluntary projects like Bridge to Turkiye Fund, gave a speech at the European Parliament and received the International Leading Women Award, for her work
“I am very honoured to take part in the organization of the United Nations, of which 193 different countries are members, on March 8, International Women’s Day this year. It is a great honour to represent my country in the world as a Turkish woman on Women’s Day.” She said.
“I will also call for help in the education of the students who were affected by the earthquake by taking the earthquake that shook the whole of Turkey into my agenda. Education doesn’t wait. My field is education. I’m a teacher. I was a female student raised by the Turkish Education system, and I am a Turkish woman raised by the Republic of Turkey. How can we touch the lives of many of our female students by sharing my own story? I will offer solutions to the question.
“Our students affected by the earthquake will be our priority. For the next two years, we will use all of my social responsibility projects and my search for resources to heal the wounds of the earthquake, both at home and abroad. ..”
