EKIN-SU Culculoglu looks completely unrecognisable in a first look at her next Dancing on Ice performance. The Love Island winner will be back on the ice on Sunday night (January 29) after surviving the first skate-off of the 2023 series.
Ekin, 28, was among the first six celebrities to make their debut on the ITV skating show, hosted by Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield, during its launch earlier this month. And last weekend’s show saw the remaining five famous faces and their professional partners perform before the dreaded skate-off.
And despite not performing last weekend, Ekin-Su had to lace up her skates and perform against former footballer John Fashany after they both failed to receive enough votes. John, 60, and his professional partner Alexandra danced again, this time to Norman Greenbaum’s Spirit In The Sky while reality star Ekin-Su and her partner Brendyn Hatfield skated to No Tears Left To Cry by Ariana Grande.
After the couples went head to head, the judges voted unanimously to save Ekin-Su meaning John became the first celebrity to exit the competition. And it came after a tough debut for Ekin-Su after her outfit for her first performance, to Britney Spears’ track Toxic, caused a stir.
Dancing on Ice was then slapped with 112 Ofcom complaints following its opening show.
For the competition’s Musicals Week the reality star and her professional partner will be performing to Do Re Mi from The Sound of Music. “Whoever you see in the performance, whether I’m playing Britney Spears or Maria from The Sound of Music, I will be that person,” she told the Sun. “With Britney, I was having fun with it, I couldn’t have performed it better in my opinion. I don’t regret it.”
She added: “This time I’ll be playing a character from The Sound of Music and I’ll be how she is supposed to be. People forget I’m an actress. If I was asked to play Henry VIII on ice, I’d do it.”
