DAY-MER has shared a statement as Wednesday 1 February marked the biggest strike day seen in Britain for more than a decade.
Stating that hundreds of thousands of people are taking action as they struggle with the cost of living, teachers have also voted for strike action which will carry on in the coming months.
“…While teachers go on strike demanding better wages, they also voice their demand for better education under the same campaign. The insufficient budget given to schools, increased the workload in schools and caused many teachers to leave the profession… In short as a result of not allocating the necessary budget for education, schools have to provide education with less budget, and this affects both teachers and schools, most importantly, our children.
Adding “…Supporting the teachers’ strike to be held on February 1, 15 and March 16, participating in the strike line actions in front of the schools on the day of the strike means protecting the education of our children.”
