Londoners prepares for Women, Life, Freedom event

“ZAN Zendegi Azadi” or “Jin Jiyan Azadî” (Women Life Freedom) is the iconic slogan of the protest movement going on in Iran. In solidarity with the fight for a democratic and equal society, we welcome you to a cultural event with artists and cultural creators connected to or from Iran.

In London a event is being organized to talk about women’s resistance which will take place on January 29, artists Tara Jaff, Suna Alan, Fra Rustomji and Fari Bradley will take the stage at at The Marylebone Theatre, 35 Park Rd, London NW1 6XT.

At the event will included Maryam Namazie (human rights activist), Rahila Gupta (author and activist), Diana Nammi (founder and director of the Iranian and Kurdish Women’s Rights Organization), Zerbanoo Gifford (President of the World Zoroastrian Organization), Rouhi Shafii (sociologist, writer, translator) , women and human rights activist, Writers in Exile and President of the International Coalition Against Violence (ICAVI), Sara Kermanian (Academician, University of Sussex), Shiva Mahbobi (Campaign for the Freedom of Political Prisoners in Iran (CPPPI) spokesperson), Nasrin Parvaz (author, activist and painter), Writers-in-Exile members Danielle Maisano, Şirin Razavian, Denisse Vargas Bolaños and Aydın Mehmet Ali will be speakers.

As part of the event, an exhibition of paintings by Nasrin Parvaz, a former Iranian political prisoner, writer, activist and painter, will also be featured.

In the statement made by the Jiyan Women’s Council, it was stated that women from all walks of life were invited to the event, and it was emphasized that a free society was built with the revolution led by Kurdish women in the Middle East. The rebellion which started after the murder of Jina Mahsa Amini on September 16, is the rebellion of the progressive humanity, which developed against the despotic, reactionary, male power in general, against the Iranian regime in particular, led by the women of the oppressed.
