Küçük and Denktaş commemoration at Rauf Raif Denktaş Turkish School

A commemoration ceremony was held for or Fazıl Küçük and Rauf Raif Denktaş at the Rauf Raif Denktaş Turkish School operating in South London.

The commemoration took place on Saturday, January 14th, with Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus(TRNC) London Representative Çimen Keskin, TRNC Deputy Head of Mission Tahir Osman Tahir, the Turkish Embassy’s London Education Counselor Mevlüt Ceylanalogn with number of associations in London and family of the students.

Rauf R. Denktaş Turkish School President Meryem Biricik said: This year, as Rauf Raif Denktaş Turkish School, we hosted the ceremony that we host alternately with our sister school Dr Fazıl Küçük Turkish School. Our leaders will always maintain their place in history and in our hearts with their statesman qualities that are appreciated all over the world. We remember them with love, respect and longing.”

Dr Fazıl Küçük Turkish School, President Ulaş Tözün, stated in his speech that the leaders of the Turkish Cypriot People’s Struggle for Existence and Freedom, despite all kinds of poverty, difficulties and dangers since their youth, have dedicated themselves to this cause in order to defend the life safety and rights of the Turkish Cypriot people and left the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus as a legacy.

Keskin, who thanked our Turkish Schools for this meaningful organization said: “Our Leader of the Struggle for Existence and Freedom, Dr. While I bow respectfully in the spiritual presence of Dr Fazıl Küçük and our Founding President Rauf Raif Denktaş and his colleagues and our martyrs who sacrificed their lives for this cause, I respectfully greet our veterans, mujahideen, our heroic people and the Republic of Turkey, which is always with us… If we are living a life, the foundations for it were laid by our late leaders. As the Turkish Cypriot People, our most fundamental duty is to protect our state, which our late leaders led a great struggle, to establish, and to carry it forward! ”
