Seven people have appeared in court charged with drug offences

A voluntary scheme on stop and search use was announced by Home Secretary Theresa May in April

Seven people have appeared in court charged with drug offences. 

The charges relate to nine warrants executed by the Cyber Crime Unit, in north east London, Manchester, Sussex and Hertfordshire.

The court hearing took place yesterday (Thursday, October 27) at Stratford Magistrates’ Court where they were charged with offences individually.

A spokesperson for the Met Police said: “The charges were related charges relate to nine warrants executed by the Cyber Crime Unit, in north east London, Manchester, Sussex and Hertfordshire. This was part of a proactive operation targeting criminals using the Dark Web to facilitate the distribution of Class A and Class B drugs.”

Askin Aktas, 41 was charged with three counts of conspiracy to supply Class A drugs.

Hassan Patel, 34 and Mohammed Zamurrad, 35 were charged with three counts of conspiracy to supply Class A and Class B drugs.

Apostolos Zgkouris, 29 was charged with three counts of conspiracy to supply Class A and Class B drugs and one count of producing a Class B drug.

Giannis Foukis, 39 was charged with five counts of conspiracy to supply Class A and Class B drugs, four counts of possession with intent to supply Class A and Class B drugs and one count of possessing criminal property.

Nikolin Tarousa, 36 was charged with two counts of conspiracy to supply Class A and Class B drugs, one count of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs and one count of possessing criminal property.

and Thomas Kapouranis, 26 (10.10.96) of Northlands, Potters Bar, Hertfordshire is charged with two counts of conspiracy to supply Class A drugs and one count of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs.

They will next appear at Wood Green Crown Court on Wednesday, 30 November 2022.
