Atatürk World Platform(AWP) shared a statement celebrating August 30th, Victory Day.
President Jale Özer on behalf of the Board of Directors, evaluates the importance of August 30, its history and the current Republic of Turkey.
The statement made by AWP said: “Today, we celebrate a miracle, the greatest victory of our War of Independence that happened thanks to the determination and unique genius of the Great Leader, Eternal Commander-in-Chief Atatürk. August 30, 1922 is the day when the spirit of unity and solidarity was strengthened and the people and the army mobilized with great sacrifices and ended the struggle for independence with victory. This victory is the victory of the Turkish people!
“In order to bring the light of national sovereignty to the people and to establish an independent new Turkish state, Atatürk first resisted on the path of peace even during the National Struggle. When the lands of the homeland, which were occupied by the imperialist powers since 1918, could not be taken back with the diplomatic approaches that Atatürk pursued with great will; The Turkish army turned to war and dealt the final blow to the invading forces with the “Great Offensive”, and the homeland was saved from the invasion of the enemy…
“We, as the honorable heirs of this victory, are members of the secular, democratic and libertarian Republic of Turkey, founded by Atatürk under very difficult conditions, with open foreheads and high heads. The Turkish nation, realizing the importance and meaning of August 30, will celebrate it with great pride and enthusiasm forever. We are determined to pass on the light of Atatürk’s principles, which is the only way of salvation for Turkey’s indivisible integrity, to future generations!
