‘Meeting the in-laws’: Love Island fans go wild as Davide and Ekin-Su meet each other’s families in heartfelt reunion episode.
Sunday night’s Love Island episode ended on a dramatic note as Paige Thorne and Adam Collard were dumped from the villa, just narrowly missing out on a spot in the final.
But viewers had their heartstrings pulled when Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu and Davide Sanclimenti introduced their families to one another in an emotional first meeting.
Twitter went wild at the sweet scenes, which saw the Italian hunk tear up as he was reunited with his mother Nadia, and his sister.
Nadia reassured her son that Ekin-Su is sincere, noting that she’s ‘head over heels’ for him.
Elsewhere the Turkish actress’ brother warned Davide that ‘my sister, she deserves the best, right?’
As Davide replied affirmatively, Ekin-Su’s brother continued: ‘So…I hope you’re willing to give her the best.’
The Essex native’s mother offered the Italian hunk a warm welcome as she recalled their date, adding: ‘I saw you were in love. So emotional. Welcome home Davide.’
Davide translated his mum’s Italian to a visibly touched Ekin-Su, as he then reaffirmed to believe both are ‘head over heels’ for one another.
At another point, Davide’s mum told him that she was a little apprehensive about her at the start.
However, after his date with Ekin-Su, she changed her mind and gave her seal of approval.
Ekin-Su’s mum then also gushed over the relationship while Davide described the coupling as a ‘dream’.
And social media users were just as taken with the heartfelt scenes.
‘Ekin and Davide’s families meeting was soooooo sweet man they’re my winners now,’ one user wrote.
“The new bombshell has arrived”
Walking in with confidence Ekin-Su’ brother 17-year-old Arda announced “The new bombshell has arrived”.
Viewers were quick to take to social media saying he was a dead ringer for American actor Timothée Hal Chalamet.

Arda seemed to have done a remarkable U-turn ahead of Love Island’s Meet The Parents day. He had previously insisted he hated all the boys in the villa – including his sister’s new boyfriend Davide – when he appeared on Aftersun alongside mum Sezer earlier this month.
Arda appeared on and he didn’t hold back when host Laura Whitmore asked his opinion. Arda told her : “I’m gonna be honest with you, I hate them all, I hate all the guys there.”
The final of the 2022 series of Love Island will air on Monday 1 August on ITV2. As is customary, the last episode will be a special extended live edition, starting at 9pm and lasting until 10.35pm.
