IN the UK and the Commonwealth of Nations, it gives out prizes on in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List, this year has seen another Turkish person recognised for their service.
Sevcan Kudu, 35, from Northamptonshire, has been awarded for her services to prisoners and voluntary services to refugees. She is the diversity and inclusion lead at HMP and YOI Bedford
A “Member of the Order of the British Empire”, simply called MBE has been awarded to Sevcan has worked with people from different ethnic groups, helping to improve the lives of many refugees in the community. With her work, she has created noticeable changes in the lives of refugees.
An MBE is awarded to someone for having a “major local role in any activity, including people whose work has made them known nationally in their chosen area.” Notable MBE winners include The Great British Bake Off’s Nadiya Hussain, Adele, all of the Beatles, and TV chef Ainsley Harriott.
