Turkish football seals Digiturk deal

London’s local Turkish football league has signed a landmark sponsorship deal with Turkey’s top satellite TV platform Digiturk.

The agreement, which is thought to be worth £58,000 over three years, will see the league’s first and second divisions rebranded under the Digiturk name.

It is by far the largest sponsorship deal in the 39-YEAR history of Turkish football in the UK.

Digiturk is understood to have committed to a monthly magazine programme about London’s Turkish leagues to be broadcast on its platform.

The deal was signed by the Turkish Community Football Federation (TTFF) at the Wadham Lodge headquarters of Waltham Forest FC.

As a provider of satellite television services since 1999, Digiturk has long provided national services and its own channels on its platforms. It also holds the broadcasting rights of Turkish Super League.

In addition to Turkey, Digiturk offers services throughout Europe, mainly for members of the Turkish diaspora. It is thought the deal with TTFF will help Digiturk broaden its subscriber base in the UK.
