DAY-MER is organizing an event to celebrate March 8, International Women’s Day. An evening event will be held at Day-Mer this year on Saturday, 5 March.
In a statement, they said: “The Covid-19 pandemic has either ended or suspended a lot of things over the past two years. However, in the women’s calendar, International Working Women’s Day made solidarity more compulsory than yesterday. The pandemic has exacerbated the difficulties women are already facing, from homeschooling and working from home, to job losses and increased domestic abuse…
“This year, as every year, we call on all women to defend our rights and increase the struggle. With our enthusiasm, our slogans, we will turn every place into the field of March 8th. On Saturday, March 5; “We defend life against crisis, exploitation and violence! With the slogan, we invite you to our 8 March International Working Women’s Day Festival, which we will hold at the London Community Centre between 7 pm-10 pm. Give voice to our voice, strengthen our strength!”
The event will include performances from the Day-Mer woman’s choir as well as artwork displayed by its members and talks with guests. The event will be taking place at 22 Moorefield Road, London N17 6PY.
