DAY-MER will be holding a protest together with UNITE on Saturday 8 January 2022 outside of North Middlesex Hospital at 4pm.
In a press statement, they said: “The number of people waiting for treatment has exceeded 5 million, the waiting time in the emergency services has increased to 6 hours on average, the patients cannot find a bed and are treated in the corridors. Patients diagnosed with cancer have to wait at least two months for treatment.
“Health workers, who work almost 16 hours a day. The government, which did not take any steps to close the health worker gap and improve the conditions of the workers, paid only 3 percent to those working under extraordinary conditions.
“There are many reasons for doing all this. The first is that the Johnson government and the rich club it represents do not care about the health of the people…
“Together with the migrant and food workers branch of the DAY-MER and UNITE union, we aim to strengthen the campaigns carried out to inform Turkish workers and to protect our right to health. More funding for the NHS. Recruitment of sufficient number of health professionals.”
