Jale Özer

Jale Özer, Chair of Atatürk World Platform and Atatürk society UK :

A new year is beginning, which will pass with the pandemic and the measures taken due to it, and will continue with restrictions all over the world. Although the effectiveness of vaccines against the coronavirus epidemic indicates a more optimistic view of what 2022 will bring globally… As an association, we are of the opinion that holding collective events such as meetings and conferences in the next few months is very risky in terms of epidemic. It seems that our events will continue in the digital environment for a while.

Ayşe Osman

Ayşe Osman, Chair of the British Council of Turkish Cypriot Associations:

“As we leave behind the second year of our unexpected new lifestyle brought by Covid-19, with all the bitter and sweet events, joys and sorrows of life, we are experiencing the excitement of entering a new year. Every new year comes with new hopes. My wish is that the year 2022 will bring health and peace to the whole world. However, wherever one lives, it is easy to travel, families can come together again as in the past, global and social solidarity, unity and solidarity are strengthened, wounds are healed and pain is relieved…”

Servet Hassan

Servet Hassan, chair of Çanakkale Commemoration Platform (CAP) and President of the British Turkish Women’s Association (BTKD):

“In order to look to the future with hope and not to experience the problems we experienced last year, it is very important that those who were not vaccinated should be vaccinated as soon as possible in order to protect their own and their relatives’ health, as well as the health of the community. In these days when the Omicron variation of the coronavirus is spreading rapidly, as the British Turkish community, let’s not delay our vaccinations and strictly follow the mask and distance measures…”

Nafiya Horozoğlu

Nafiya Horozoğlu, Chair of the Turkish Cypriot Youth and Family Association UK:

“As KTGAB, our expectation or aim is to regain the lost hope as of 2020. The coronavirus has taken so much from us, our loved ones, our health, our dreams and hopes. We will provide the necessary support and work to our youth and families so that the new year will be the year of change and hope. While determining the projects we will put into service, our priority is always our young people, who are the guarantee of our future. Where a man puts his energy, it sprouts. The transformation of energy into success happens with the right choices. The right steps, the right choices, increase the energy and strengthen it. Let 2022 be a year that we will take a hopeful and strong step together.”
