New entry requirements have been made for travellers entering the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus(TRNC) it has been announced.
The TRNC’s Higher Committee for Infectious Diseases latest decisions made means “all persons entering the TRNC via air, sea or through a crossing point will be required as of Monday, November 1 to fill in their Digital Travel Documents and register online.”
Travellers will be required to download the Güvende Kal (Stay Safe) app on their mobile, on the app a new form the ‘digital travel document’ will need to be completed. Those who do not have mobile devices can complete the document on www.guvendekalkktc.com a provide a printed copy of the form to customers when entering.
Currently, travellers need to fill out a TRNC Passenger Entry Form and entry with this document will be allowed until November 15.
These persons will be required to obtain a printed copy of their documents to present to customs upon arrival.
In the announcement, it also stated “Arriving passengers who will require quarantine depending on which country they arrive from will be required to create a Digital Travel Document through the “Travel Code Applications” section. Passengers who will be subject to quarantine will be able to create a digital travel document from the electronic wristband section on the condition they provide a residence address in the TRNC. This procedure will apply to all persons above the age of 12…”
“The requirement to create a Digital Travel Document applies to everyone aged 6 and above. While children under the age of 12 in quarantine will not be monitored through electronic wristbands, persons travelling to their place of residence will either drive alone or be driven by one designated driver. Persons who violate these rules will be sent to a state-monitored quarantine facility and will be charged for their accommodation.”
