An exhibition with over 100 works of art belonging to 21 artists from mainland Turkey, Cyprus and the London diaspora community artists was held at Saatchi Gallery one of the important modern art museums of London.
Organized as part of the “TA London / Turkish Art Week” event which brought together 21 artists from all over the world and organized by Renko London, featured the works of painters, sculptors and photographers.
Renk Erbil, the daughter of Devrim Erbil, the founder of Renko London and one of the representatives of contemporary painting art in Turkey, said that her father, the lead artist of the exhibition, sadly could not attend the opening due to health problems. Pointing out that more than 900 guests attended the opening of the event, where more than 100 works of 21 artists were exhibited, Erbil said, “It was an evening where we felt the art within us. That’s why we, as TA London team, are very happy.” said.
Erbil stated that they plan to organize this event in London in October every year and that they will open an exhibition in Alaçatı in December. Bahri Genç, Barış Sarıbaş, Başak Cansu Güvenkaya, Cengiz Yatağan, Çiğdem Erbil, Devrim Erbil, Ece Clarke, Emin Çizenel, Esra Meral, Eva Sonaike, Joanna Gilbert, Mehmet Günyeli, Mine Zabcı, Nuri Battal, Renk Erbil, Rina Bakis, Works by Sakit Mammadov, Sina Mirel, Sümer Erek, Yam Karkai and Yiğit Yazıcı were all featured. Art lovers were able to able to visit the exhibition last week.
Artist Mine Zabcı, who took part in TA London / Turkish Art Week with her works of art, spoke to the Londra Gazete saying: “It was an excellent event, we received a lot of attention from the Turkish speaking community rather than the foreign visitors and this made us very happy. Turkish Art Week was heard very effectively through social media. An exhibition of mixed artists took place here and we were all individually selected. It was a great honour to be a part of such an exhibition.”
