LAST month, Atatürk World Platform (ADDP) held its 1st Annual General Meeting. President Jale Özer, who represented the Atatürk Society UK (ASUK) was elected as the president of the ADDP.
ADDP President Özer visited Germany between 27-29 September due to ADDP’s legal proceedings and made contacts.
The first visit of the 2-day Germany program prepared by Ahmet Singör, the head of Atatürk Society Dortmund one of the founding member associations of ADDP. The association building, which was opened last year, received great acclaim with its library and Atatürk’s paintings.
At the dinner organized in a Turkish restaurant in Heidelberg on the evening of September 27, 2021, Özer and the member association of ADDP. At the dinner, it was discussed how the pandemic affected the activities of the association, and mutual exchange of ideas on what to do next.
Özer emphasized that it is very important to increase the communication between the new management and member associations and that the board of directors will make a plan to help the associations. She said that the biggest aim of ADDP is to carry out studies that will enable the Atatürk Society System to be understood among young people abroad and to internalize it as a philosophy of life. Associations participating in the dinner wished success to the new management, said they would support it as an association, and expressed their satisfaction.
On September 28, a meeting was held in Stuttgart with Atatürk Society Stuttgart President Gönül Köksal and board member Elif Özel İsmailoğlu. At the meeting, in which Singör and Atatürk Society Karlsruhe Vice President Serap Arabacı were present, Özer talked about the importance of women’s voluntary work abroad in the struggle for enlightenment and expressed her pleasure to see that women in AS-Stuttgart are also at the forefront in this struggle, and gave information about ADDP.
Özer’s last meeting was to attend the invitation of Filiz Albrecht, a successful business person in Germany, Albrecht took office on January 1 2021 as the first female board member in the 134-year history of world giant Bosch.
Following the meeting Özer expressed how proud the success of a Turkish woman is and how Albrecht is an important role model for young people living abroad to realize such successful life stories.
