Yasemin Arslan will represent Bristol at Miss Great Britain final

AFTER being crowned Miss Bristol in April, Yasemin Arslan is now preparing to represent her city in the final of Miss Great Britain 2021 later this year. Born to an Irish mother and a Turkish father, the 22-year-old is the youngest of five siblings, all of whom have supported her in her journey to becoming a nationally recognised beauty pageant star. Alongside pursuing this dream, Yasemin works full time as a laser hair removal and skin specialist at Therapie in Cribbs Causeway. Due to the coronavirus lockdown restrictions, the Miss Bristol competition was held online in April and Yasemin was picked by the competition’s judges out of thousands of eager applicants. After winning the Miss Bristol title, Yasemin was motivated to go all the way and she has since been entered into the Miss GB final as the city’s representative. The historic Miss Great Britain event is an annual, national beauty pageant that has been crowning winners since 1945.

Yasemin spoke about her experience as Miss Bristol with resounding positivity and has learned a lot by being involved with the organisation. She hopes that as a female role model, her platform will give others the courage to go for gold too.

She added: “No matter what it is that you want in life if you’re hungry enough, determined and eager, then take every opportunity with both hands, set that goal and smash it. “We all have the same 24 hours in a day. No matter your background or what you have or don’t have in life, you’re capable and worthy. There is only one of you and that is your power, so embrace it. Stand tall, and be proud, and remain humble, and most importantly be comfortable in your own skin.”
