TWPA: “Young people are our future”

Turkish Women’s Philanthropic Association of England (TWPA)  one of the oldest and most successful associations established in London, came together with Turkish Cypriot youth living in London at a tea party on Sunday, September 12.

The event organised by TWPA was attended by TRNC London Representative Çimen Keskin, TRNC London Consul Namık Cafer, Haringey Council Leader Peray Ahmet, TWPA Chair Semahat Mustafa, management members, association members and young people. TWPA Chair Semahat Mustafa made the opening speech at the event, which was attended by a large number of people, and used the following statements:

”TWPA is an association founded in 1970 by the gathering of Turkish Cypriot women. The TWPA registration in 1975 had become a charity; its main purpose was to provide practical and financial assistance to Turkish women and their families. As TWPA, we have undertaken various projects and aid campaigns, these services are still continuing and we want to take steps with our youth to become stronger. Young people are our future, we care about our youth, we care about the thoughts and problems of our youth, their projects for the future. Therefore, we are very happy to see our young people among us.”

TRNC London Representative Çimen Keskin congratulated the work of TWPA and said: “TWPA has carried out many good works as our oldest association, and we, as the Representation Office, will always do our best to stand by our society. The TRNC London Representation is the second home of our community in England.”
