A charity event was held for a Baby Asya with SMA-Type 1 at the 30 August Victory Day celebration organized by the Council of Turkish Cypriot Associations (CTCA) in Greenwich, South London.
Also attending from The Turkish Republic of North Cyprus’s (TRNC) London office where Representative Çimen Keskin, Consul Buket Kop, Consul Namık Cafer and Secretary İsmail Şahinoğlu.
CTCA chair Ayşe Osman thanked the participants and noted that they organized a picnic event in the 30 August Victory Day celebration program in order to contribute to the treatment of 10-month-old Baby Asya.
Underlining that they want to contribute to the treatment of SMA 1 disease, which causes weakness in nerve cells, muscle loss and weakness of nerve cells, Osman said, “We sincerely thank our sensitive community who came to the picnic on this important day and provided support. In addition, we were delighted that TRNC London Representative Ambassador Çimen Keskin attended the event with the dust of her feet. I would also like to thank them, Consul Buket Kop, Namık Cafer and İsmail Şahinoğlu.”
The TRNC London Representative, Çimen Keskin, also expressed honour to participating in the picnic organized to help Baby Asya, saying: “This is my first week in London. I am honoured and proud to be in a place where the Turkish Cypriot Diaspora is the most dense and powerful. This is our first event with our newly arrived diplomat friends. We were present here as a whole team. I was touched by the strong support and unity of the Turkish Cypriot people in the face of such an event. I hope it will reach its goal.”
