SABAH Güneşi (Morning sunrise) is the new singles released by singer Çiğdem Aslan, touching on the difficult pandemic conditions.
Introduced by the British-based Red Music UK label, ‘Morning Sunrise’ is inspired by modern music approaches in its dynamic rhythm that hosts Anatolian melodies. The song, where traditional instruments can be heard and enriched with electronic synth substructures, offers a musical feast with 80’s disco, R&B guitar, rock patterns and jazz trumpet solos.
After moving to London to study Music at Goldsmith University, Çiğdem received full marks from Songlines Magazine, fRoot and critics for her performances with bands such as Dunav Balkan Band, SOAS Rebetiko Band and award-winning She’koyokh, founded in 1964, and their highly acclaimed album ‘Mortissa’ (2013) and Asphalt Tango Records’ ‘A Thousand Cranes’ (2016) album Songlines nominated Çiğdem in the ‘Best Artist’ category at the Music Awards and was chosen as one of the best albums of 2013 by fRoots and Songlines Magazine. Having received praise from prestigious newspapers such as The Guardian, NPR, Evening Standard, and New York Music Daily, Çiğdem Aslan entered the top ten of the World Music Charts in Europe and remained on the list for months.
