Okan Baysan sets off once again!

Marathon runner Okan Baysan has got his trainer on once again and theirs not stopping him.

After a year of restrictions that have close big sporting events and stopped international travel has meant many athletes like Baysan, who has spent a number of years travelling the globe and going to event across the UK unable to.

Last year saw a few virtual runs take place, but now as the UK along its 4 stages out of lockdown, running events are back on. Baysan known for fighting the flag for the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus across the finished line at marathons and running events across Europe and the UK has been waiting to get his trainer back on.

Already filling up his calendar Baysan has taken part in Royal Windsor Riverside Trail Run last Sunday (May 16) which included half marathon and 10km trail races.

Speaking to Londra Gazete, Baysan said “The run was well organised, with Covid restrictions fully observed, and it was a fun, friendly and fast trail run along one of England’s most historic courses. There were just under 700 runners, plenty of marshals to guide the participants to the finish line.”

Adding that he’s looking forward to taking part in more events he said “While this was a small scale local race in my neighbourhood, I’m looking forward to the bigger event, The British 10k London Run on 25th July Sunday in the heart of London.”
