Limasollular Association celebrated International mother day

LIMASOLLULAR Association UK, met with its members on Friday, May 7, to celebrate International Mother’s Day.

The event limited in numbers and compliant with covid measurement is one of the first the group has organised since the pandemic started last year.  A lunch at Gökyüzü restaurant was held with members.

Welcoming the members Arife Retvan, Chair of the Limassol Association, thanked everyone for joining the event, she also took a moment to remember those who lost their mothers in the poem Retvan read for Mother’s Day. Then the “Mother of the Year Award” was presented Cemaliye Ali, who has given her time and support to the association since it was established was chosen as the “Mother of the Year”.

A lottery draw was taken and the poetry book “For the Sake of a Rose” written by Arife Retvan were put up for sale.

Speaking to LondraGazete  Retvan said: “Being back together after a long time has delighted us all. With the easing of the restrictions, we came together with such a meaningful event and accumulated happy memories. The happiness of our members did not go unnoticed, after our event, our members called the members of the board one by one and thanked them and asked when our next event was. It has been a good day for all of us, we will come together again with useful events. ”
