ASUK celebrated April 23rd National Sovereignty and Children’s Day

On April 23rd National Sovereignty and Children’s Day the Atatürk Society UK (ASUK) joined together with members of all ages to celebrate online this year.

Chair of the ASUK Jale Özer said: “Today, the stronghold of the anti-imperialist struggle in the world of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey and the establishment of 101 years of the Children’s Day is a great honour, we celebrate with pride and enthusiasm. Our Great Leader Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, before the council activates, manages the liberation war, then establishes the Republic of Turkey.

Turkey Grand National Assembly opened our April 23, 1920, from father to son the way to destroying our nation the last sultanate managed, which lets you replace the management authority and the right of the nation to pass a very important day. Our nation has gained this right by fighting against foreign enemies who wanted to take over our country and the sultanate rule that fell into oblivion to cooperate with them.

Mustafa Kemal Atatürk put forward the will of the parliament by saying “Sovereignty belongs to the nation unconditionally”. This understanding rejects the imposition mentality. There is no place for the sultan, the one-man politics or the dictator here.

That is why the Assembly of April 23, 1920 is considered a political revolution in which the stones of democracy were laid. This assembly formalized the ‘NATIONAL SOVEREIGNTY’ slogan, which was initiated by Mustafa Kemal Atatürk with the Amasya Circular and consolidated in Erzurum and Sivas Congresses, on April 23, 1920. It is a pity that no function of the TGNA remains, as the representative place of the National Sovereignty today.

However, there is no room for despair in these lands, where Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and his fellow cases are raised. In this hope and faith April 23 National Sovereignty and celebrate Children’s Day in our 101 years as soon as the awareness that now unconditionally back the nation’s sovereignty, independence and until a single light always to live in the Republic of Turkey enlightenment will light our once again we promise.”
