Over the past year, the Coronavirus pandemic has an effect not only on people physically with lockdown downs and travel restrictions but mentally on those of all ages who have been affected by the pandemic.
Many unable to voice their struggle, use music as an expression. the under the same sky festival will be held online saying “The fact that Coronavirus poses a threat to the whole world, regardless of language, religion and race, made people remember once again that they are a person beyond their own ethnic identity. Although the anxiety and fear created by the lethal effect of the corona in our memories caused different reactions in each of us, the “Under The Same Sky Festival” aims to make room for new and hopeful memories in people’s minds by using the symbolic power of art.
“Immigrants and refugees scattered all over the world keep their hopes alive and reflect their hopes in their music, despite the harder living conditions in the days of Corona. They thus cry out through their songs that they are the carriers of a new world. The “Under The Same Sky” Festival wants to make these sounds common to the whole world from the south of Africa to the north of Europe. In this way, it is aimed to support the integration and social cohesion efforts of these people in the new geographies they come from.
“The “Under The Same Sky” Festival, the main theme of which is new geography, new lives and new hopes, will be broadcast online on Youtube and Zoom media. Participants will mostly be amateur refugee or immigrant groups. They will also attend the festival as guests of famous singers and music groups.”
