“The spirit of Çanakkale is the symbol of our national unity”

ÇANAKKALE Commemoration Platform (ÇAP) issued a message for the 18th March Martyrs’ Day and the 106th anniversary of Çanakkale(Gallipoli) Naval Victory.

In the statement made by ÇAP Chair Servet Hassan, she said: “The Çanakkale Wars were won thanks to the ability of all elements of the Turkish nation, which regards the differences of ethnic origin and belief as wealth, to be one soul, one heart and one wrist when it comes to the defence of the homeland. The victories we won in the Çanakkale Sea and Land Wars are the most fundamental work of our unity and solidarity. Our nation has shown the whole world that it will act with the same spirit and consciousness whenever and whenever it is faced with the survival problem. We are proud of our supreme nation who always keeps the Çanakkale Spirit, which is the symbol of our national unity, alive in its identity.

Adding “Our security forces heroically endure the attacks from inside and outside, and do not hesitate for a moment to become a martyr and veteran in their fight to defend the homeland… These days when we remember with respect and gratitude, our martyrs who have entrusted us this holy homeland for the sake of their blood and lives, our most important duty is to raise awareness of our children about our glorious history and national values. The Republic of Turkey cherishes forever but, thanks to the development of the next generation of national consciousness will be possible.

On the 106th anniversary of the Çanakkale Victory, we commemorate all our martyrs and veterans, especially the founder of our Republic, Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and his comrades in arms, and we present our gratitude by bowing respectfully in front of the memory of the saints.”
