Pelin Değirmencioğlu has passed away

Pelin Değirmencioğlu, who is one of the distinguished figures of the Turkish Cypriot Community in England and well known for her work in the education community, has passed away.

Pelin was the wife of late Ali Rıza Değirmencioğlu, who pioneered the establishment of Turkish Schools in England, was the Honorary President of the Turkish Family Association UK and Ali Rıza Değirmencioğlu Turkish School named after her late husband.

Sadly on Sunday morning, she passed away in her home.

Degrimencioğlu, who spent 3 months in the hospital during this period she was treated for mild coronavirus and later underwent heart surgery,  was recently discharged from hospital and was receiving treatment at home.

Across social media, the education community expressed their sorrow, as well as members, from the Turkish Cypriot Community in England and North Cyprus.
