The British Turkish Association (BTA) is calling on citizens of Turkish origin living in England and Wales to participate in the census to be held this month on March 21.
In the statement made by BTA, they emphasized the importance the once every 10-year census holds, stating that by having acuate figures of the Turkish community in the country and to have more say in political and social life as a society.
The data from the census will be used when planning findings and support across the country and by taking part the community is able to have its voice hear and make sure that it is included correctly for future planning which will affect things such as educations, health and emergency services.
BTA’s social media page has shared information and details on how to fill out the online/paper census with details which question have importance for the Turkish community, like your place of birth, ethnicity and main languages.
Calling on the Turkish community to help one and another with the census, staying some people may struggle with the census which will be held online for the first time and BTA said younger member or those who are able to help to take time to help those need it.
