The health secretary has said the hunt for an unidentified person with the Brazil Covid-19 variant(P1) has been zone into 379 household radios within the south-east of England.
Matt Hancock told the House of Commons on Tuesday 2 March, that officials had now “identified the batch of home test kits in question”.
He added: “Our search has narrowed from the whole country down to 379 households in the southeast of England and we’re contacting each one.
Six cases of P1 have been detected in the UK.
While in London surge testing will be deployed in the areas of Wimbledon Park in Merton, southwest London, and East Finchley in Barnet, north London, where the South African Covid variant has been found, the Department for Health has said.
