A food aid campaign launched in London by the Turkish Cypriot Youth and Family Association (KTGAB) has seen members of the community come together to donates, as well a turn them donation into aid packages which have been given to members of the community in need.
KTGAB members come together on Thursday 28 January to put-together and handed out food aid, trying to meet the needs of all members of the society in need, lonely, and elderly.
Since the announcement of the campaign members of the community have been donation as well as receiving aid, on Thursday food packages were delivered to elderly or needy community members by volunteers.
The packages have been put together with food and items that are created for the community, as well as items like nappies and sectional to help families in need and hit hard by the pandemic.
The packages were delivered to 200 homes for students, families and elderly people by volunteers during the distribution on Thursday.
The statement made by the Chair of KTGAB Nafiya Horozoğlu said : “On this road, we set out with the motto “We will succeed together”, we succeeded in building a bridge of love between the philanthropists and the needy, and we managed to deliver the food packages we prepared with the aid we collected to the homes of 200 people.
“Our solidarity campaign does not just only appeal to the Turkish Cypriot community, it addresses all those in need, regardless of race, religion, belief and colour. Please contact us to take advantage of the food campaign.
“We are very grateful to organizations, businesses or community members who support and donate to us. The troubles will end as they are shared. We will overcome this difficult process hand in hand. ”
