The future of Cyprus was discussed in BTCA and the CTCA’s online seminar

BRITISH Turkish Cypriot Association (BTCA), The Council of Turkish Cypriot Associations (CTCA UK) organised a series of online events looking at the future of Cyprus’s.

The first of the online events was in collaboration with The Circle Foundation and hosted by former UK Government Minister Brooks Newmark.

The discussion were made by a wide range of panellists including politicians, legal experts and academics covering the options that are open to Cyprus throughout this series.

The first webinar ‘What kind of future awaits Cyprus? Two States? Federalism? Is TRNC recognition possible?’ took place on Tuesday, 26 January at 7 pm with the attendance of Andrew Rosindell MP, former MP Lee Scott, International Lawyer Michael Stephen QC and Professor Hüseyin Işıksal of TRNC Negotiation Team and member of the community joining the webinar to hear the discussion.

The organizers have said the events are platforms to create a genuine and free discussion of what can happen in the United Nations negotiations and beyond, and to give a voice to Turkish Cypriots, a society that has long been ignored internationally. The organizers are doing their best to reach all parties, both in Britain and Cyprus, and hope others will attend future seminars. There will be two more seminars on February 24 and March 24.
